Acer Tegra 3 Android tablet rumours confirmed
Acer has confirmed they will be introducing a Tegra 3 Android tablet to the market. Jim Wong, Acer President today confirmed this with T3 and the device will be quad-core and will arrive in 2012.
Mr Wong confirmed that leaks spreading ont he web are accurate and Acer will quickly follow ASUS in launching a Android-based Tegra 3 quad-core tablet.
“Acer was the first to follow Motorola with a Honeycomb tablet in 2011 after the launch of the XOOM and we intend to remain very aggressive on that front,” said Mr Wong.
“You may have seen some leaked stories in the media relating to Acer launching a new quad-core tablet and I can confirm these stories are true.”
T3 notes that the arrival of Acer’s follow up to the Iconia Tab seems quash rumours that they were considering getting rid of the Android OS from their products, but the Acer president was quick to affirm the company’s plans to pursue both Android and Windows.
Acer has not confirmed specific details about the tablet but it is likely to be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
