Path first launched in November 2010 as a private photosharing service between you and your friends but with Path 2 it has grown beyond that to include places, music and sleeping, it’s now a smart journal for you to share many parts of your life with 150 of your closest loved ones. Path 2 is about giving people a place to “capture all the experiences” on their path through life.

The entire app has been revamped into a beautiful timeline of multimedia for both iOS and Android. A press of the elegant + button at the bottom left of the app pops out six icons; camera, people, places, music, thought, and sleep.

Camera

Camera allows you to add a photo or video to your Path, this could be at an event you are attending, your family or something that you love. The camera also comes with a selection of great looking free and paid filters which really do add something special.

People

People allows you to tag who you are with. You can select as many people you wish then post it to Path with an optional location and a thought. This is a great feature for remembering times you spent with important people.

Places

Places lets you tag where you are, such as a coffee shop or your favourite restaurant. I use this to keep track of great places that I don’t want to forget. Once you have selected a location you can then add who you are with and leave a note about it.

Music

Music allows you to post what you are currently listening to, from your favourite jazz track to your best christmas jingle. Once posted to Path your friends can preview the track, check out more information, and buy the track from iTunes.

Thought

Thought will let you post anything you are thinking or doing. You can also add your location and who you are with directly from this screen. Thoughts, locations and people posts can be either sent to all your friends on Path, kept private to you by hitting the lock at the bottom left of the app, or shared out to other social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Foursquare) by selecting the buttons at the bottom right of the screen.

Sleep

Sleep is one I didn’t get at first but once I started using it I got it straight away. We carry our phones everywhere, we aren’t really offline anymore so adding sleep is a great way to let friends know when you aren’t available, and lets you know and track how much sleep you actually get, this could potentially improve your health.

What I think

Path 2 is a brilliant way to keep track of your favourite people and what they are doing in a sexy, slick and additive to use app. I’ve used Path 2 more in the last week than I did with version 1 in a whole year, that is how much an improvement this is.

Path 2 is available for both iOS (iPhone) and Android. You can grab it at the App Store and the Android Market.

Very simple and beautiful review, and I absolutely love the service. I just don’t know how to search for people the only way I can find is to find friends via friends of friends. Do you know a way around that?

Thank you, like to keep things short and sweet. If you go to add friends and look near the top you will see a search box that says ‘Search Path’, if you know a persons name they should come up.

People won’t use it because not too much friends there. So what a pity. Maybe invitation is the only way to be engaged. what else ?
