LG shows new HDTV line-up, one at 55-inch, 5mm bezel
Today LG has revealed at CES 2012 its new lineup of HDTVs, the biggest being a massive 55-inch OLED 3D HDTV.
LG says the 2012 series (LM9600, LM8500, LM7600 and LM6700) have been developed with Cinema Screen technology, which limits the bezel size to just 5mm to prove “consumers a more immersive viewing experience.”
“LG continues to innovate in the TV space, bringing to market sleek new designs with technological advances such as 3D and Smart TV,” said Tim Alessi, Director of New Product Development, Home Electronics, LG Electronics USA. “This is just the beginning of another exciting year for LG as we look to deliver new products that meet the needs of consumers’ growing appetite for theater-quality products in the home.”
The LM9600 and LM8600 will feature the LG Dual Core chipset, which will allow the sets to have faster loading speeds and will enable voice recognition technology with the new Magic Remote. The Magic Remote also allows Wheel, Magic Gesture and Pointing control. Consumers will be able to buy online content through the built-in WiFi connecting and with Mobile HD Link consumers can connect compatible mobile devices to the TV to charge and play its content including apps and games.
LG’s SmartTV dashboard will now also be customisable so consumers can navigate and personalise the interface how they wish.
LG is also introducing two LED HDTVs featuring LG Smart TV with Google TV (LMG860 and LMG620)which will allow access to a large selection of Google content, including apps from the Android Market.
