Vizio introduces its sleek PC and laptop line
LCD HDTV company Vizio has introduced its sleek new PC and laptop line. Today they announce what they call five ‘premium personal computers designed to turn the PC market upside down and accommodate the entertainment needs and wants demanded by consumers.” The line consists of two all-in-one computers, two “thin + light notebooks” and one normal notebook. The line is set to launch running Windows 7 in spring 2012, and come with 2.1 audio and video quality.
Matt McRae, Chief Technology Officer at Vizio said ”PCs are often associated with productivity and the workplace, routinely lacking the excitement that would be expected with what and how consumers want to use their PCs today – as an extension of their entertainment experience, VIZIO wanted to change that. Our new line of VIZIO PCs are truly high quality and consumer focused, delivering enhanced multimedia capabilities while upholding our high standards of performance, style and design.”
The designs are some of the cleanest looking PC’s I have seen, though clearly Vizio is taking major cues from Apple not just in design but in strategy, so acting like this is some sort of innovation to me is silly, although it is business after all.
