Windows Phone 8 Apollo Details Leak

A video that shows the details of Windows Phone 8 Apollo has leaked out according to pocketnow.com. The video is said to of been hosted by senior vice president and Windows Phone manager Joe Belfiore, intended for partners at Nokia.

Some of the things coming to Windows Phone include;

  • Multicore processors
  • New screen resolutions
  • Removable microSD card storage
  • Support for NFC radios to allow contactless payments
  • App-to-app communication
  • A Skype client that will be integrated into the OS, which will allow calls to behave almost exactly like normal calls.
  • DataSmart – which will allow a simple way to track data usage and provide a breakdown of data consumption.
  • Proxy server use to feed pages to Internet Explorer 10 to reduce the amount of data required to vie websites, this claims 30%.
  • BitLocker encryption to appeal to enterprise
  • Windows 8 integration – Developers will be able to reuse most of their code when porting an app from desktop to phone.
  • The Xbox Companion app will get a partner client on Windows 8.
  • Skydrive support promises sharing of data between devices
