Apple last updated their iconic headphone design way back in 2006. In 2008 they added an in-line remote and microphone, and now it appears Apple is updating them again for the next generation iPhone. Vietnamese site Tinhte, posted a video (which has now been made private) showing off the new headphones with a brand new design.
Tinhte claims that the headphones are being manufactured at Foxconn in Vietnamn, as the headphones do still have “Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in Vietnam” on the cable. The design change doesn’t seem to be just for aesthetics, it seems Apple has changed how the speakers will push sound into the ear, so I hope this improves the sound quality.
While the headphones could easily be fake, Tinhte says that the build quality has made them confident that they are in fact the real deal.
