Apple has announced a new iPod touch today at its event. The new device features a brand new design, a 4-inch display (the same as the iPhone 5), comes in at just 6.1mm thin and weighs only 88 grams. The new model has an Apple A5 processor, a rear-facing  camera which is 5-megalpixels and includes an LED flash and backside illumination, a front-facing FaceTime camera  that shoots 720p video, 40 hours of battery when listening to music, and support for lanyards. Apple has also included AirPlay mirroring, and Bluetooth 4.0, and the Siri voice assistant.

For the first time the new touch will come in a variety of colours, including red, cyan, yellow, black, and white, and will be available in October in 32GB and 64GB variations for $299 and $399. Pre-orders begin on September 14th.
