Overall the Xbox One’s software is pretty great but it has been missing a view things that have been bugging users. Soon some of those annoyances will be fixed as Microsoft has revealed what the next two software updates will include.
February 11th
The first update includes improvements to Kinect voice recognition, new tools for developers, a reorganised My Games and Apps section and “stability and product updates to improve customer experience.” Also included in the update will be a battery meter on the dashboard so you’ll finally be able to tell when your controllers about to die, the ability to manage and see how much space you have left on your HDD, and apps will be separate from the games section, “Now you can pick the order in which you want your content to load and we’ve added a boot progress indicator so you can better track updates while they load,” Xbox Chief Product Officer Marc Whitten said in a blog post. Additionally the update will also add USB keyboard support.
March 4th
The second update will come on March 4th which Whitten’s says has “a new party and multiplayer system.” Who knows what this actually contains but Microsoft aren’t saying much else about it right now. Whitten added that we’ll hear about many more announcements regrading the upcoming update soon.
