Here’s a behind the scenes look at Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty Ghosts that gives us some pretty great info, including working on motion capture with dogs, how they’ve created a cast of characters that create emotion, and a brand new engine.

Infinity Ward says that Call of Duty: Ghosts is set not-too-distant future, an attack changes the global balance of power, with the United States no longer recognised as a superpower. Ten years after the attack, a band of soldiers known as the “Ghosts” wage a war against an unseen enemy.

Call of Duty Ghosts will be released for Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 5, 2013.

PlayStation 4 coming to Europe this year

Sony’s official PlayStation Europe account has tweeted the below advertisement for the PlayStation 4, which reveals it will be coming to the continent this year, just like the Xbox One. While we don’t know exactly when this year, it’s highly likely to be in the run up to the Christmas holiday season. We would also be surprised if the US release isn’t around the same time.

Sony is set to show off more of the PlayStation 4, including what it looks like, at E3 in June.

Xbox One supports 3D and 4K

Director of Programming for Xbox Live Larry Hyrb aka Major Nelson has reveled that the Xbox One will support both 3D and 4K resolution in a Yahoo live chat with users. Twitter is finally getting two-step verification

Twitter is finally bringing two-step authetication to accounts after a series of high-profile hacks. It is currently rolling out so you may not see the option just yet. If you do, first head over to settings, then go down to Account Security and check “Require a verification code when I sign in.” After you sign in, Twitter will send a code to your phone that you’ll need to input to access your account. Twitter will then generate a temporary password which you’ll need to sign in on other devices or apps.

This will make Twitter accounts much more secure, so we should hopefully see a much lower percentage of hacks in the future.

CryEngine 3 primed for Xbox One development

Crytek has announced that CryENGINE 3 is already equipped to start creating software for Microsoft’s Xbox One console.

Crytek recently became a licensed provider of middleware and tools for Xbox one, and will support the platform as well equipping CryENGINE 3 licensees with the tools required to create their own games for the system.

In a press release Carl Jones, Director of Global Business Development at Crytek said:

We offered assurances over two years ago that CryENGINE 3 was ready for the next generation of consoles, and time has revealed that promise to be true.

As developers begin to create new games for Xbox One, our technology and unparalleled support will ensure CryENGINE3 users remain at the forefront of the industry now and well into the future.

The new Man of Steel trailer is amazing

I’ve been looking forward to Man of Steel for a long time but the trailers never really excited me that much, until now. The new trailer is extremely gritty looking for a Superman film and features General Zod causing some serious damage.

The film directed byy Zach Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan will be a reboot of the Superman series. Henry Cavill will be Superman, while Amy Adams will be Lois Lane. It is due for release on June 14, 2013.

Google’s new voice search comes to Chrome

Google showed off its new voice search for at Google I/O last week, and now it’s available in the the latest version of Chrome.

Chrome 27 allows you to the click microphone in the search box on Google.com, which opens a search page that listens to your commands such as “How old is Robert Downey Jr?” you can then follow the question up with “What films has he been in?” and Google will remember that you’re talking about Robert Downey Jr. It really is smart. The new voice search will soon offer the ability to just say “OK Google” rather than clicking the microphone.

As of the time of this post it seems to be having some problems so it may not be fully functional right now.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Reveal Trailer

Here is the brand new reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts. The game will see a ”new world, new story and new-engine” and will be released on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Set in the near future, an attack has changed the global balance of power, with the US no longer recognised as a superpower. Ten years after the attack, a group of soliders known as the “Ghosts” wage a covert war against an unseen enemy.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is due to release on November 5, 2013.

Watch Dogs coming to Xbox One

Microsoft has confirmed that Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is coming to the Xbox One, its next-generation console.

Watch Dogs is an action-adventure video game being developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The game gives players the ability to hack into various electronic systems to get information and gain advantages in certain situations. The game was first revealed at E3 2012.
