Polaroid turns Instagram’s icon into an actual camera running Android

By Stephen Robinson @xstex · On 6 January, 2014

Okay so it’s not exactly the same, but it’s pretty damn close right? In a pretty odd move Polaroid has announced the device at CES 2014, with a release date of the first quarter of 2014. The camera is in partership with Socialmatic who designed the below concept in 2012.

Polaroid Socialmatic runs Google’s Android operating system and boasts a 4.5-inch touchscreen, built-in WiFi, 14-megapixel camera on the front, and a 2-megapixel rear facing camera on the back, and 4GB of storage with microSD slot. You can also print photos using Zink’s sink-free paper so you won’t need to go hunting for expired film.
